movin on up

ok, so sorry about that, everyone. apparently, for some reason that is beyond my comprehension, i was only able to save the title of the post last time. odd. so, i'll try to recapture the essense of lost post.

-----------

movin on up: a tribute

so, i'm movin on up/ to the east side (of kz)/ to that delux apartment in the sky/ i'm movin on up/ to the east side (of kz)/ i finally got a piece of the pie!

that's right. i have moved to almaty. i wasn't supposed to move until august, but stuff happened and i left my village a little bit early. i'm not exactly thrilled about leaving the village, but the powers-that-be think it's best for me to be working in the largest (and therefore most modern and cosmopolitan) city in kazakhstan. so, i'll deal.

and where will i deal? lemme tell you -- in my sweet ass apartment!

Ashli!

I shall actually email you later, but one blog comment deserves another and it's kind of interesting trying to use this form. All of the menus are in Japanese which, in case you didn't know, I don't understand! For an example, this: 個人情報を選択 is above my name in the spot where you choose how you want to sign the post. I'm signed into Google at the moment (who owns Blogger) so it automatically knew that I was "Scott (Blogger のハンドルネーム)". Whatever that means. Keep rockin' the KZbah.

Thanks Jason, ever since I thought of that little number, it's been on permanant repeat in my mind, complete with the occasional record scratching sound. Sometimes I'm too clever for my own good.

hi, ashli! if you re-read my blog i kinda answered your last email...

also, i wrote this on scott's blog, too.. but, though i should be used to it, the whole you in the kz, me in ecuador, scott in japan thing continues to blow my mind... we are like the bishop diaspora!

Wouldn't it be weird if the comments page of this post became THE hotspot to communicate for all of the Bishop ex-pats? I'm just saying.

Ashli dear, can I have your new address so I can go be intimidated by the post office? Will you be staying in your awesome apartment for the rest of your time in KZ?

Can I add to the Bishop diaspora by being in Cincinnati? I know, it's no KZ, but it's what I have going for me right now.

Cin-city counts Molly. As long as you're not currently living in Bishop Hall, you're part of the diaspora. I'm doing well Elizabeth, thanks for asking. I haven't seen the new Pirates movie yet, it hasn't come to the base theater. It does later in June, I think. We get some first run movies but a lot release a few weeks after they do in the states. My base only has one theater and only shows one or two movies a day so it can take a while for the one you're interested in to play at a time you can go see it. Good luck Monday, I hope you have clear skies and quiet babies! Ashli, planning on joining my new internet community here? I promise we won't lower the value of the neighborhood too much.

elizabeth,

i saw "pirates" yeasterday, and it totally rocked. i have to admit though that, having not seen the 2nd movie (and because i saw this 3rd on in russian) i was a little confused at times. but it is definitely worth seeing, especially if you can see it in english!

ps -- yay internet! i love talking to you all in much-closer-to-real-time-than-i'm-used-to!

Ash, you sure you wouldn't rather be working at K-Mart in NKY instead of adventuring around the world? Joking and you know it. Can't wait to see you. Be safe, not-to-good and above all, Enjoy!

luv from all us AU in Redsland.
