mwah

hey, i'm not dead. i know i have been posting on an almost weekly basis, but it sort of fell off this time. sorry i dropped the ball. i'll say my pentance later.

anyway, i'm in the middle of my practicum and it's going well. i'm meeting my counterpart next week and on August 20, i'm off to ruskulova! hoot hoot.

so, here's my fun kazakhstan story: yesterday my 19 year old host aunt and my 14 year old host sister GOT INTO A KNOCK DOWN, DRAG OUT GIRL FIGHT!!!!! it was the most hilarious thing ever.

let me briefly translate and reinact the situation:

adela: muhabbot, could you please help me carry the scraps to the cows? it's heavy.

muhabbot: you can carry it yourself. you are strong enough, judging by the width of your fat ass.

adela: shut up, bitch. help me carry the food to the cows.

muhabbot: why carry the food? it's already in front of a cow.

adela: shut your whore mouth! i'd rather be a cow that a ugly she-wolf, bitch.

muhabbot: fat-ass!!

adela: bitch!!

then they attacked. . . it was like two monkeys battling over who can dance for the organ grinder. the only thing that stopped them from clawing eachother's eyes out in typical cat-like fashion was my host mother beating adela into submission with metal spoon while my host grandmother hit muhabbot repeatedly with a rubber hose.

it was HI-larious.

now i'm off to buy a winter coat. i'll report more later.

Wow. I never knew the Kazakhs (is that how you spell the noun?) could get so angry. They seemed like a peace-loving and noble people.

NO iDEA WHY THAT PUBLISHED. piece of blog didn't let me edit and spell-check.

As I was saying, HMpnK kheplempt, cough,

In my mind's eye I saw you in an old western where everyone's fighting an throwing chairs and whiskey bottles about and there you are, calmly paying no attetiion to anything other than the iced te you are drinking.

You stand up, after a bottle whizzes pass you head, calmly down your tea and walk away quietly, as if everything is as it should be.

I don't think it was a white hat, it more of a brown, park ranger type. Howsoever, a most excellent recount of the activities.

Alway look foward to catching the adventures of ashli.

Sounds as though you're having a good time over in the Stan, but yes as Mark has mentioned it is a very sad day for the Peter Jennings Fan Club. {tear}{sniffle} The man who so bravely anchored the news for us and our fellow Tappanites during those scary, uncertain days following 9-11 is no more.

Hey, anominimouse,

You got something to say, ? SAY IT.

I know I'm spoiled. But I love my children and I am so very proud of them.

You wish, no I do. How can anyone not be?

without chhhildren, how far away from eality can you be?

alley minimouse, I is sorry to lash out at you. you're'll be likely only doing what you feal is best for whomever,

Thank you for posting on this site. All who are aware of the fact that Rokulovo is pretty much exactly on the other side of the planet is with me to place prayers and love to the young women who is their in our stead. (blah, blah, blah- bleagh-!)

I'm sure Ashli is aware of her father's short-comings and is glad to hear from anyone who may know of its own self. Quite brave.

So, Ashli, I did not think my writeing would bother such emotion.

I'll write,

longhand.

c'mon, the discription of the event did sound like an old western saloon fight. Give it up, the rendering of Ash's account is severe. It was like being there, and I know how calm our Ashli is in unusual situations!!

Ryan, I'm old fashioned. But I do need a new dictionary. However, I.m blameing it on this dvorkian keyboard.

Luv'Ya Ash,

Dad

Eric, just spend a few precious minutes and look at your posts before you hit the "login & publish" button...
You don't need a dictionary (well, maybe you do), just a clear eye and a few moments of reflection on what you wrote and, hopefully, that will let you make necessary changes before you post something on the Internet that can't be taken back.

Ashli,

As you may or may not know, Mike and Katy got married yesterday. It was pretty cool. When the bootie dancing started at the reception, I could only shake my head in shame at the girls who claimed that what they were doing was "bootie dancing." You could have schooled them all and not even broken out a sweat.
